Oh and one other thing
I do actually have cancer, it's very small and in my thyroid so bye-bye hormone-regulating thyroid, hello, little pill. Good things about cancer - I've had 3 dinners brought over in 1.5 weeks...and iodine free salt. Seriously, I'm fine, but people are nice. Now, read my much more exciting post about Lincoln's bday.
Lincoln's 5th Birthday
Lincoln turned 5 today. Yes, 5. That's what I said, booby trap. (points if you know the reference) What, how did that happen? I don't know, but it did. And he wanted a pirate party. We were at the store a while back and he said, "mom, I want a pirate ship cake for my party." I said, okay, we can do that. Then without any way of knowing what I was thinking in my head, he said, "but I want the cake in the shape of a pirate ship, not a pirate ship toy on the cake." What the heck, how did he read my mind? He knows me well. Because that was exactly what I was thinking. You saw the picture of the cake. I think it's pretty awesome. The poop deck almost fell over - it was being poopy (ha, I'm so funny.)
When Lincoln turned 3 we went all out and had a lion bday complete with pin the tail on the lion and crafts and games and cake all relating to the lion theme. This year I wised up. We had kids over, watched a movie, ate pizza and cake, and colored a pirate ship picture. Perfect. OH, and here's the amazing invitation I created.
I know, amazing right? You're all thinking, Gosh where does Anna come up with this stuff? Well, you too can create your own invites by going to the paint accessory on your computer. Moving on.
This is Lincoln pretending to be shy after coloring his pirate ship picture. He's not shy. The other day he asked Jon's boss to play sumo with him. At our house to play sumo you take your shirt off and grunt and bump stomachs. Mom does not play sumo.
I can't tell if he had fun.
She's not sure if she's having fun.
But she does seem to be engrossed by the movie.
This little friend has been telling Lincoln for several days about his present. Lincoln was very excited.
And Lincoln seemed to be very pleased with his cake.
And before parents came, we opened up our plethora (would you say I have a plethora?) of costumes and the kids all dressed up in the boys costumes and had a blast.
Success.
